The classification and features of Overhead Crane

At present, overhead crane mainly include trolley overhead crane and hoist double girder overhead crane. Difference of the two types overhead crane is hoisting mechanism, trolley overhead crane hoisting mechanism, such as drum, brakes, motors, running mechanism and motor brakes are installed separately, and then assembled into a trolley, the overall volume is larger; but the hoisting Machine of hoist double beam overhead crane is directly use hoist as lifting mechanism, no drum, so the volume is relatively small.

Advantages of imported overhead crane

Imported overhead crane, especially under 100 t crane, have been implemented with electric hoist as lifting mechanism, the hoist drived by frequency conversion motor, realize the dual-speed running, can achieve the A5 working level. Imported brand cranes have advanced design idea, material performance is superior, compact dimension, low headroom, light weight, small wheel pressure, low energy consumption. These features to some extent, can reduce the plant height, reduce the cost of plant and operational cost savings.

Years ago, all these advantages are an objective reality. But at present, China domestic overhead crane also have this hoist overhead crane, and the lifting capacity have already up to 80 ton, some advantages of imported overhead crane have disappeared. The performance of domestic hoist overhead crane just like the imported brand crane, no matter the wheel pressure, self-height, structure or energy consumption. China domestic crane took a big step to be world brand.

Disadvantage of imported overhead crane

Combined with China’s national conditions, the import brand cranes have many inherent disadvantages, which cause them can’t be widely used in the domestic market.

1. High price of whole machine and spare parts

Same tonnage cranes, the price of imported brand is usually about 30% higher than domestic brands, some even are twice as many domestic prices. Import crane spare parts price is higher, some need to deliver goods from abroad, maintenance cost of the manufacturer at later period is higher. Most industrial and mining enterprises in China started late, capital strength is weak. Under normal circumstances, these enterprises are would rather spend more money on production equipments, instead of auxiliary lifting transport equipments.

2. Maximum lifting capacity is limited, working level is not high

At present, imported brand of crane main girder and end beam production both in the domestic cooperation manufacturer, only the hoist is imported. Domestic application of imported brand overhead crane is generally no more than 80t, more than 100 t crane need corporation authorized to produce or to be imported from abroad. And, these imported cranes working level are intermediate duty, for some of the heavy intensity work(A6 and above) are not suitable.

3. Hoist lifting speed is slow

With 50t overhead crane as an example, the import brand crane use hoist as lifting mechanism, the fastest speed generally is 4 m/min, but domestic 50t overhead crane used are trolley, the fastest speed can reach 8 m/min, deputy lifting speed can reach 13 m/min. Therefore, for those enterprise who require higher lifting speed, the imported overhead crane does not have the advantage.

Conclusion

The threshold of the overhead crane is lower, China now has more than 1000 registered company crane. Especially in Henan Xinxiang development faster in recent years, which is known by ” hometown of China crane”.

The gap between China domestic overhead crane and imported overhead crane is more and more small, and the advantage of the imported crane is less and less obvious, domestic crane does not exist high cost disadvantage.
